Dr Chiara Fossati graduated in Medicine from “Sapienza” University of Rome in 2005. From the same University, she obtained a post-graduate degree in Geriatrics in 2009 and became PhD in Geriatric Sciences in 2013. During the years of PhD course, she dedicated her work to neurodegenerative diseases, both in the field of clinical assistance and research. She spent a period of PhD in “Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta” of Milano, which is an Italian excellence in the field of neurologic diseases. After PhD (2013-2017) she worked in a private research hospital in Rome, IRCCS San Raffaele Pisana, where she was committed to clinical and pharmacological research in the field of Parkinson’s disease. During that period, she started to direct her research interests in exercise as prevention and treatment of chronic cardiovascular and neurologic pathologies. In 2017 she obtained a post-doc research grant at University of Rome “Foro Italico” where she became research assistant in 2019. Her scientific and research activity includes the participation to many research projects (some of them co-funded by Italian Institutions or European Union) and international clinical trials (phase II-III), more than 30 full-text papers published on Peer Reviewed International Journals (H-index=9), 3 book chapters and 40 articles published on the Acts of national and international congresses.
