I was born in Kastoria (Greece) in 1964 and i work as Assistant Professor at the
Department of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy, School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH), Greece. I received the Medical degree in 1989 from Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, gained full qualification as specialist in orthopaedic surgery in 1999 and attained the Ph.D degree in 2007 (degree: excellent). In 2009 i was appointed as Postdoctoral Lecturer and in 2015 as Assistant Professor, at the Department of Anatomy, A.U.TH serving from then until nowdays.

Research and Scientific Fields of Interest
Surgical anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, Entrapment syndromes of nerves and neuropathies, Gross Anatomy, Topographical Anatomy, Functional Anatomy, Surgical Anatomy, Advanced Trauma and Life Support.

Teaching Experience (Undergraduate level)

  • Teaching Orthopaedic Surgery in Nursing Schools (1996-1999).
  • Volunteer Scientific Fellow in Anatomy at the Department of Anatomy in Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2003-2008).
  • Lecturer at the Department of Anatomy in Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2009), Assistant Professor (2015).
  • From 2003 until today: Teaching Gross Anatomy for undergraduate students of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Teaching Experience (Postgraduate level)

  • From 2009 until today: Teaching, through the EPEAK program, “Basics of Systems Morphology and Anatomy”, to a Medical Informatics postgraduate program with the acronym PROMESIP, that leads to the acquisition of two degrees, Master of Science and PhD. This program is an inter-departmental program involving the school of medicine, the department of electrical engineering and the department of computer science. The degrees are awarded from the School of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
  • 2003 until today: Postgraduate courses for Sports Medicine Association of Greece.
  • 2011 until today: Teaching surgical anatomy and surgical approaches on cadavers. “Postgraduate courses for orthopaedic residents-Scholarship Professor Jürgen Koebke” organized by the Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Macedonia and Thrace and the Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine, Aristotle University ofThessaloniki.
  • From 2012 until today: Teaching as an Instructor at all the Student ATLS courses held by the American College of Surgeons (Hellenic Chapter).
  • From 2015 until today: Teaching to the postgraduate programme «Sports and Health».
  • From 2016 until today; Teaching to the postgraduate programme «Clinical and Surgical Anatomy» organized by Department of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy, School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Postgraduate studies

  • From 1997-1998 (12 months period): Joined and successfully passed, after exams, the 3rd Postgraduate Program for Prehospital Trauma and Life Support, organized by the EKAB (National Instand Aid Center).
  • At 10-11th March 2007: Joined and successfully passed the Student ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) course, organized by the American College of Surgeons (Hellenic Chapter).
  • At 18-19th September 2010: Joined and successfully passed the Student ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) course, organized by the American College of Surgeons (Hellenic Chapter).
  • At 17-18th June 2011: Joined and successfully passed the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Candidate Instructor course, organized by the American College of Surgeons (Hellenic Chapter).
  • At 16-17th December 2011: Joined and successfully passed the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Instructor course, organized by the American College of Surgeons (Hellenic Chapter) and certified as an Instructor.
  • From 2011 until today: Instructor to all ATLS courses.
  • 2010-2011 (6 month period): 11th Programme of Continuing Education of Academic Teachers. Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
