He took a degree in Medicine and Surgery with honors and a specialization in Sports Medicine with top marks at the University of Pavia. Moreover, he has an honorary doctorate in Economics from the Hiroshima University and in Science of Communication from the Popular University of Milan.
From 2005, he is President of the Italian Federation of Sports Medicine (FMSI), in 2017 he has been unanimously elected President of the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations (EFSMA); moreover, he is President of the Development Commission of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and Director of the Scientific Journal “Medicina dello Sport”.
Thanks to his transversal scientific competences, he has been appointed to several high-profile positions at national and international level. He is member of the National Board of CONI; independent member of the executive board of the Football League Serie A and Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
President Casasco is also author of numerous scientific publications and speaker at various national and international congresses on Medicine, Sports, Economics, industry and credit.
