Dr. Amit D Mistry is a UK based Sport Psychiatrist currently working in a specialist, Eating Disorders service. He is on the executive committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Sport & Exercise Special Interest Group (RCPsych SESIG) and holds an honorary clinical lectureship post in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) at Queen Mary’s University London (QMUL).
Amit has presented internationally on sport psychiatry, sport wellbeing and eating disorders. He has published an accredited RCPsych educational module on exercise interventions for severe mental illness and is co-authoring a book with Cambridge University Press entitled “Case Studies In Sports Psychiatry” (due out mid 2020). This will be the first ever case-study book collaboration between sport psychiatrists, physicians and former professional athletes.
Amit is a former county Rugby Union player and represented Great Britain in Men’s Rugby tag from 2015-2017.
